Биография на режисьора

Andrea Petrlik Huseinović was born in 1966 in Zagreb, Croatia.
She graduated Graphic art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb.
She is the illustrator and the author, too – she wrote and illustrated seven picture books: Love, The Blue Sky, My Family, Ciconia Ciconia, Aerial Ian, House of Dolls, and Maleni. They have been translated and published into several foreign languages (Japanese, Chinese, Russian, Korean, French, German, Italian, Persian, Ukrainian, Romanian, Spanish and Slovenian).
Her originals from the picture books The Blue Sky and Alice in Wonderland are a part of International Collection of Chihiro Art Museum in Japan.
In 2008, on the occasion of the World Book and Copyright Day - April, the 23th, UNESCO chose for a poster one of her illustration.
Until today, she illustrated fifty picture books, not only for Kasmir promet, Zagreb, but also for British and American publishers: Top That Publishing, Ladybird, Scholastic, Tyndale, Child’s Play International etc.
She collaborates with a children’s theatre group - I Theatre from Singapore.
Short animated film "The Blue Sky", based on her original picture book, is the first film she authored and directed with her husband Kašmir Huseinović in 2016.
