Synopsis

During the Great War a group of austrian soldiers on the italian front find a piano in a ruin. The instrument catalyze soldiers’ most human feelings in a fragile understanding, but the meaningless barbarity they’re trying to forget is always ready to burst.

Director's BIO

Massimo Ottoni was born in Ascoli Piceno on May 31, 1984.
After graduation in Literature, Music and Show Business at La Sapienza university of Rome he majored in animation at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Turin, where he co-directed his graduation movie Imperium Vacui (co-directed with Linda Kelvink). In the following years he worked as a freelance making several animation shortmovies, commercials and commissioned films. In 2015 he directed the animation sequences in Egidio Eronico’s feature film “Nessuno mi Troverà”, about Ettore Majorana. In 2016 he directed two shortmovies, “The Steinway” produced by Istituto Luce Cinecittà, and “Water Hunters” for Regione Piemonte (co-directed with Salvatore Centoducati). In 2016 he teached at Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Torino and at the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) in Milano, following two graduation projects as a tutor. In the same year is co-founder of Ibrido Studio.
